Luigi Veronesi - The numbers
I NUMERI/ NUMBERS
Luigi Veronesi, 1945
A beautiful and clever counting book for children and graphic design enthusiasts alike. This book employs the use of photographic images and illustrations to teach counting and addition from zero to ten. The refinement and graphic sophistication of its pages make it an artistic project beyond the simple "children's book".
Luigi Veronesi (Milan, 1908-1998) was an Italian photographer, painter, scenographer and film director.
"He always thought art as an instrument that involves all the aspects of the aesthetic experience, and investigated its relationship with the age of mechanization. Famous for his colour transpositions of music scores, he was a member of the MAC (Movement for Concrete Art) and one of the most “european” among Italian abstract painters. He also was one of the first authors to use photography in childrens’ books."
